Master Thesis


After earning 25 ECTS credits (i.e. passing 5 courses), the program participants may officially select a topic for the Master thesis. Work on the Master thesis is completed under the guidance of an IMQF faculty member. In order to be allowed to defend the thesis, one needs to pass all of the required courses and at least 2 elective courses, i.e. earn at least 45 ECTS credits. In addition, the thesis needs to be approved by the appropriate bodies of the Faculty. The thesis is written and publicly defended in English in front of a committee of three Faculty members.

Upon completing the course requirements and successfully defending the Master thesis, students are awarded the degree Master of Economics by the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade with the Diploma Supplement: International Masters in Quantitative Finance (IMQF). According to the current regulation, students are required to complete the coursework and defend the Master thesis within 3 years after the initial enrollment into the IMQF program.
