The Course Structure

IMQF program combines ex-cathedra lectures with practice exercises, real-life financial and economic data analysis, and hands on modeling experience. In several courses emphasis is on team work and project-based learning. Pre-exam activity and activity in class carry a significant weight towards the final grade. The program is organically tied to in-depth training in Wolfram Language (WL). This helps students easily and intuitively build sophisticated financial models, solve challenging practical problems and make stunning interactive presentations.

There are 7 required and 4 elective courses at the IMQF program. Each course carries 5 ECTS credits. Out of the four elective courses, each student needs to pass at least two. Importantly, one can take for no extra charge all four elective courses. In four out of eleven courses, Wolfram Language is used in part or all of the course, including the final exam. We denote these courses with (WL).

The required courses provide participants with thorough training in mathematics, programming, finance and economics needed to perform cutting-edge jobs in the financial industry or become effective researchers in the field of finance. Elective courses provide deeper knowledge in various important areas of finance. While taking two electives is a required minimum, we recommend that you take all of these state-of- the-art courses. In order to make this possible, we make sure that no two courses overlap in time.
